Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a surf lesson?
Your lesson will take 2 hours. The first 20 mins or so is spent on
the beach with the instructor. He/she will go through safety, your
surfboard, leash, popping up, controlling your surfboard, and lots
more.
You will then be taken into the water to practice catching waves,
popping up and riding the waves to shore. Your instructor is in the
water with you at all times and is on hand to answer any questions
you may have.
I have booked a surfing lesson, what is provided and what do I need to bring with me?
We provide you with the surfboard and wetsuit for your lesson. Please bring a towel, swimwear to use under your wetsuit and a warm jacket for after surfing.
Will I be on my own or will I be in with others?
You will be part of a group, no more than 8 students per 1 instructor.
What happens if the weather is too bad for the lesson?
The lesson can be cancelled if the wind and sea conditions are not suitable. Our priority is your safety. We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible in advance of cancellation. Unfortunately, we cannot control what Mother Nature throws at us!
I have booked a Level 2 course with your school, can I use my own surfboard? How many will be in the group?
If you have booked a Level 2 course then you can use your own surfboard.
We can also supply surfboards for the Level 2 course. Our level 2
instructor is fully qualified and has many years surfing experience.
We will work with a maximum of 4 people on the Level 2 course. This
will ensure that you will be given ample time with the instructor
and plenty of practice time in the water.
Where are you located?
We are located directly on the beach in Enninscrone beside the lifeguard station. Check out our map.
I have booked my children into your surf camp, who will operate the camp, what safety precautions are in place?
Your children will be supervised by our Irish Surfing Association approved instructors, all of whom have an up to date Beach Lifeguard Qualification. The school is Irish Surfing Association approved, and adheres to strict operating guidelines.
